JAC — France, Belgium, USA

JAC, a specialist manufacturer of industrial bread slicers, needed a rapid, standards-compliant ERP to start operations across multiple countries. Awara IT implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to replace legacy Dynamics AX 2012 processes, automate core manufacturing and finance workflows, and provide a single source of truth for the head office.
The project delivered a fast operational start in France, Belgium and the USA, with automated production order processing, localized compliance, and consolidated financial reporting. The result was reduced manual work, faster month-end closing and actionable operational visibility for CFO and IT leadership.
JAC is a discrete manufacturing company that designs and produces industrial bread slicers with operational sites and sales in France, Belgium and the USA. The company operates at a mid‑market manufacturing scale with centralized corporate reporting requirements from its Western Europe head office.
JAC’s IT landscape was based on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and fragmented local spreadsheets and manual reconciliations prevented a fast, controlled start of operations. Finance teams in each country maintained local workarounds for VAT, intercompany transactions and statutory reporting; production used disconnected shop‑floor processes that required manual transcription into ERP.
Key triggers: JAC required a repeatable, auditable startup model that matched corporate standards; fully automated core business processes (procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, make-to-order production); and unified financial reporting at head office. Time‑consuming month‑end close, high volumes of manual journal entries and inconsistent inventory accuracy were blocking scale.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was selected for its rapid deployment capabilities, strong fit for mid‑market discrete manufacturing processes and native integration with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform. Business Central provided the required financial controls, multi‑company and multi‑currency features, and localized country modules for France, Belgium and the USA, enabling compliance while minimizing custom code.
Awara IT was chosen as implementation partner due to specific experience migrating customers from Dynamics AX and delivering Business Central for manufacturing clients. The solution architecture prioritized standard Business Central modules with targeted integrations to preserve speed of delivery and reduce long‑term maintenance.
The implementation included country‑specific configuration for VAT handling in France and Belgium, and sales tax handling for US entities. Local statutory reports and posting profiles were implemented to meet each jurisdiction’s legal and tax requirements. Language packs (French/English/Dutch where required), SEPA payment formats for EU bank transfers and integration to local payroll providers were delivered to ensure full compliance and auditability.
By standardizing on Dynamics 365 Business Central and automating core finance and manufacturing workflows, JAC achieved a controlled, fast start in three countries while meeting legal and corporate standards. The project reduced time spent on manual reconciliations and accelerated decision cycles through consolidated reporting and Power BI dashboards.
Operational benefits included improved inventory control, fewer production data errors due to direct MES integration, and faster cash‑flow management via centralized banking connectors. The implementation created a scalable platform JAC can extend to additional sites and integrate deeper with corporate Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as needed.
Awara IT enabled a fast, standards‑based start for our operations. We now have reliable financial consolidation and automated production processes across our sites. — Luc Martin, CFO, JAC
