Purchase orders were frequently created manually or via email, approvals were slow, and data had to be reconciled across disconnected ledgers and spreadsheets. That created delays in procurement, inconsistent costing of imported shipments, and limited ability to analyze logistics cost drivers at product or vendor level.

Finance and operations teams lacked a single source of truth for landed costs and plan-vs-actual performance. Month-end close and financial reporting were manual and time-consuming, with late adjustments for logistics accruals. Complex global logistics — multiple carriers, customs regimes and multi-currency invoices — increased the risk of misallocated costs and compliance gaps. The board required faster, auditable reporting and better control of working capital.
