Zaman Broker — Azerbaijan, Georgia

Zaman Broker, a regional insurance broker operating across Azerbaijan and Georgia, engaged Awara IT to implement a Dynamics 365 Azerbaijan Localization that automates accounting for insurance policies, streamlines settlements with insurers and integrates CRM-to-finance transactions. The client needed a solution that preserved existing Microsoft investments while ensuring statutory compliance in two jurisdictions and providing auditable financial controls for payments and policy accounting.
Awara IT delivered a Business Central–centric implementation integrated with Dynamics 365 Sales and Power Platform approval workflows. The project replaced manual journal processing and spreadsheets with automated policy accounting, electronic payment approvals and consolidated financial reports — enabling faster closes, clearer receivables visibility and reduced reconciliation effort for finance and accounting teams.
Zaman Broker is an insurance company (Banking & Insurance sector) operating in Azerbaijan and Georgia. As a regional broker managing policy issuance, settlements and agent commissions, it required localized financial processes and statutory reporting across multiple legal jurisdictions.
Before the project, Zaman Broker handled insurance policy accounting and settlements with a mix of spreadsheets and manual journal entries that increased reconciliation effort and delayed payment approvals. Policy premiums, commission calculations and insurer settlements were processed outside the ERP, creating discrepancies between sales records and the general ledger. Approval routing for payments was ad hoc, leading to slow vendor/insurer settlements and cashflow uncertainty.
The company also faced regulatory and reporting complexity: local tax and statutory reporting formats differed between Azerbaijan and Georgia, and the chart of accounts and currency handling needed to reflect Azerbaijani manat (AZN) requirements. Management lacked timely consolidated financial reports tied back to policy-level transactions, which constrained decision-making and increased audit preparation time.
Zaman Broker already used Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central alongside Dynamics 365 for Sales in its IT landscape. Selecting Dynamics 365 for the localization project preserved these investments and enabled a single-source-of-truth for finance and customer data. Business Central offered the extensibility to model insurance-specific accounting rules while maintaining standard ERP controls.
Awara IT was selected as the implementation partner because of its experience delivering Business Central localization and integrations across the Microsoft stack. The solution architecture leveraged Dynamics 365 Sales for CRM records, Business Central for core finance and the Power Platform for approval automation and reporting — reducing integration risk and accelerating delivery.
Awara IT implemented localization to meet Azerbaijan and Georgia statutory requirements: chart of accounts alignment, AZN currency handling, local VAT/tax rules, and required statutory reports. The implementation included configurable posting templates for insurance-specific transactions (premiums, claims, commissions) so entries conform to local accounting standards.
Where required, Awara IT provided export formats and reporting templates aligned with local tax authority expectations and audit trails for settlements. Language and formatting adjustments were applied for statutory documents; the solution also supports dual-country reporting to facilitate consolidated financial statements across Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The Dynamics 365 Azerbaijan Localization project delivered measurable operational improvements: policy-level transactions now flow automatically into the general ledger, reducing manual journal entries and reconciliation overhead. Faster payment approvals and integrated bank reconciliation improved cashflow clarity and accelerated settlements with insurers and vendors. Finance leadership gained near real-time visibility through Power BI dashboards tied to policy and sales data.
Statutory compliance and audit readiness improved because localized posting templates and reporting exports aligned entries with Azerbaijan and Georgia requirements. The standardized, end-to-end process decreased month-end effort and lowered the risk of reporting errors — enabling Zaman Broker to reallocate finance resources to analysis and commercial activities.
Awara IT understood the specific accounting needs of an insurance business in Azerbaijan and delivered a pragmatic Business Central localization. The integration with our Sales system and the automated approval flows materially reduced our month-end workload. — Eldar Mammadov, CFO, Zaman Broker
