Retail orders were captured in a POS islanded from production planning and finance, so production planners relied on batched exports and manual reconciliation. That workflow produced late adjustments, overproduction of short‑shelf-life items, and frequent stock imbalances between production and store networks. Forecasts were often based on historical guesses rather than real-time demand, reducing planning accuracy and increasing waste.

Finance and procurement also suffered from fragmented data. Accounts, treasury and inventory valuations were manually consolidated across systems, extending period close and obscuring working capital needs. The client required tighter control over procurement lead times, clearer traceability from store order to finished goods, and an auditable digital trail for operations and accounting. Integration with the existing POS and accounting systems, and real-time production tracking, were critical project triggers.

The decision also reflected Dynamics 365's integration capabilities with Azure services and third‑party POS systems, plus its extensibility for a custom Kitchen Display System (KDS). Language support and user-facing labels were delivered in Russian (with scope for Kazakh localization), and integrations were implemented to support electronic reporting where required.
