Bakery company — Kazakhstan

A Kazakhstan-based bakery company operating production facilities and retail outlets needed a single digital platform to connect retail order intake, production planning and warehouse logistics. Disconnected POS data, manual production scheduling and limited real-time visibility caused planning errors, excess inventory and avoidable spoilage.
Awara IT implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as the core ERP and delivered a custom Kitchen Display System (KDS) integration to automate order-driven production. The result is an end-to-end digital production platform that reduced manual handoffs, improved planning accuracy and shortened order-to-shipment cycles, enabling tighter working capital control and more consistent retail service levels.
Bakery company — food production and bakery retail management operating in Kazakhstan (process manufacturing with retail outlets and central production sites). The client runs production lines supplying multiple retail points and required a platform scalable for regional growth.
Retail orders were captured in a POS islanded from production planning and finance, so production planners relied on batched exports and manual reconciliation. That workflow produced late adjustments, overproduction of short‑shelf-life items, and frequent stock imbalances between production and store networks. Forecasts were often based on historical guesses rather than real-time demand, reducing planning accuracy and increasing waste.
Finance and procurement also suffered from fragmented data. Accounts, treasury and inventory valuations were manually consolidated across systems, extending period close and obscuring working capital needs. The client required tighter control over procurement lead times, clearer traceability from store order to finished goods, and an auditable digital trail for operations and accounting. Integration with the existing POS and accounting systems, and real-time production tracking, were critical project triggers.
Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Dynamics F&O) was selected because it natively supports manufacturing, master planning (MRP), finance and warehouse management in a single platform. The product provides the necessary modules to consolidate procurement, production control and inventory valuation while supporting multi-site manufacturing and retail distribution scenarios.
The decision also reflected Dynamics 365's integration capabilities with Azure services and third‑party POS systems, plus its extensibility for a custom Kitchen Display System (KDS). Awara IT's experience delivering F&O for process manufacturers and retailers in the region ensured practical, compliance‑aware implementation and reduced integration risk.
The implementation included Kazakhstan-specific localization for statutory accounting and tax reporting, including VAT calculation rules and local chart of accounts mapping. Financial processes were configured to produce statutory reports in the formats required by local authorities and to support reporting in KZT and dual reporting scenarios when needed.
Language support and user-facing labels were delivered in Russian (with scope for Kazakh localization), and integrations were implemented to support electronic reporting where required. Awara IT validated tax calculations and statutory outputs against local requirements to ensure compliance during the financial close and audit cycles.
The Dynamics 365 F&O implementation unified sales, production planning and finance into a single operational backbone. Automated POS order intake and the custom KDS module enabled production to be scheduled and executed against near‑real‑time demand, reducing reactive adjustments and overproduction. The company improved service consistency at retail outlets and reduced waste-related costs.
On the finance side, consolidated ledgers and automated inventory valuation shortened reconciliation cycles and improved visibility into working capital. Procurement lead times and supplier coordination improved due to clearer demand signals from master planning, delivering measurable cost control and better use of production capacity.
"Implementing Dynamics 365 F&O with Awara IT gave us the operational visibility to run production by real demand rather than by guesswork. The KDS integration was essential to reduce waste and improve on-shelf availability at our stores." — Aigul Nursultanova, IT Director
