Consolidating Dynamics 365 NAV for FLOWSERVE: Finance, Warehouse & Manufacturing

FLOWSERVE, a US manufacturer of oil flow control solutions, ran multiple installations of legacy Dynamics NAV 4.0 across three legal entities. Disparate ledgers, manual intercompany processes and fragmented warehouse workflows increased close times, inventory variances and order-cycle friction. Awara IT partnered with FLOWSERVE to consolidate those environments into a single, controlled Dynamics 365 NAV instance, preserve core NAV functionality and introduce standardized processes for finance, manufacturing and warehouse operations.

The engagement focused on three outcomes: accelerate month-end close and intercompany reconciliation, improve inventory accuracy across distribution points, and automate customs/declaration handling for cross-border shipments. Finance teams performed manual reconciliations across systems and relied on spreadsheets for intercompany eliminations and custom declarations.

Operationally, warehouse processes and inventory ledger practices varied by site. Receiving, picking and shipping used different serial and lot-tracking approaches, causing inventory accuracy lapses and delayed order fulfillment. Compliance with export documentation and custom declarations required manual steps involving external brokers, increasing lead times for international shipments. FLOWSERVE needed consolidation with minimal disruption to manufacturing and compliance-critical workflows.

Language and regulatory needs were limited to US federal and state compliance, so localization focused on tax codes, reporting formats and statutory close support.
