Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy — Kazakhstan

Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy, a large electric power company operating in Kazakhstan, required a mobile-first way to create, complete and sign field work orders across remote substations and lines. Legacy paper forms, delayed approvals and limited auditability hindered operational tempo and compliance. Awara IT implemented a Dynamics 365 CRM solution built on the Power Platform — a Power Apps Work Orders app with offline capability, SIGEX electronic signatures and smart-card signing integration.
The rollout replaced manual processes with a secure, auditable mobile workflow that syncs to Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Dataverse. Within months the customer reduced administrative lag, shortened work-order closure times and improved signature verification processes, while preserving offline usability for technicians working in low-connectivity areas.
Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy is a large electric power company in Kazakhstan (Middle East region classification). The company operates generation and distribution assets across remote and urban areas and employs a multi-hundred field technician workforce responsible for routine maintenance, emergency repairs and regulatory inspections.
Field technicians worked with paper forms or disconnected spreadsheets at remote sites, creating delays in approvals, manual re-entry errors and slow invoice reconciliation. In many locations network connectivity was intermittent or non-existent, making immediate digital capture impractical and increasing the risk of lost paperwork.
Regulatory and internal audit requirements demanded verifiable signatures and immutable records. The client had an existing Microsoft 365/Dynamics footprint but lacked a mobile, offline-capable work-order solution integrated with local electronic signature infrastructure (SIGEX) and smart-card signing used for personnel authentication.
The selection of Dynamics 365 CRM and the Power Platform was driven by the customer's existing Microsoft estate and the need for tight integration with Azure AD, SharePoint and Dataverse. Dynamics 365 Field Service capabilities provided the appropriate data model for work orders, resources and scheduling, while Power Apps enabled a tailored mobile experience for technicians that could operate offline.
Dynamics 365 also allowed Awara IT to implement role-based security, audit trails and integration with SIGEX for legally binding e-signatures. The combined stack reduced custom development for common field scenarios and ensured compatibility with the client's compliance and identity requirements.
The solution integrated with Kazakhstan-compatible electronic signature providers (SIGEX) and used smart-card signing to meet local authentication and non-repudiation expectations. The Power Apps interface was delivered in Russian with support for Kazakh-language labels where required by the customer.
Data residency and access were designed to align with the client’s governance requirements and regional regulation: data storage and backups were configured with retention and access controls consistent with Kazakhstan energy sector compliance and the customer’s internal audit policies.
The deployed Dynamics 365 and Power Apps solution delivered predictable operational improvements: faster closure of work orders, reduced administrative overhead and more timely invoicing. Electronic signing via SIGEX and smart-card integration strengthened compliance and reduced audit preparation time by providing an auditable, tamper-evident record chain.
Operationally, technicians spend less time on paperwork and more time on asset maintenance, while the central office receives reliable, validated data sooner for analytics and planning. The platform approach also creates a foundation for future modules (inventory, preventive maintenance analytics) without disruptive rip-and-replace efforts.
Awara IT helped us move from paper and uncertainty to a mobile, offline-capable work-order process with legally verifiable signatures. The result improved field productivity and simplified compliance. — Aigul Sadykova, IT Director at Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy
