Modernizing Porsche Kazakhstan with Dynamics 365 Business Central

Porsche’s dealership network in Kazakhstan required a controlled, upgradeable ERP and CRM foundation to connect to the manufacturer’s new OEM interfaces, standardize sales processes and reduce the effort of changing printed forms. The environment included legacy Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2009 (Incadea) and an existing SAP accounting system; both needed to coexist with a modern Business Central implementation.

Awara IT led the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation to migrate legacy data, connect all active Porsche OEM interfaces, streamline integration with SAP accounting, and deliver a flexible sales cycle and CRM enhancements. The result was a consolidated platform that reduced manual touchpoints, lowered form-change costs by moving to Word templates, and provided sales teams and leadership with configurable processes and automated reminders — all deployed with compliance for Kazakhstan operations.

Client / Industry / Country

Porsche — the official Porsche dealership network operating in Kazakhstan, serving retail and fleet customers across the country in the automotive retail sector; the engagement covered dealer sales, finance, supply chain and warehouse operations.

Business challenge

The client was running an aging Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2009 (Incadea) instance alongside an Incadea-based Business Central and SAP for accounting. The manufacturer (Porsche) issued new OEM interfaces that required a contemporary, supported platform; the legacy NAV 2009 system could not be extended to meet those interface and security requirements. Business users also relied on custom printed forms that were costly and slow to change, and sales processes across locations lacked standardization.

Operationally the dealer network needed a discounting mechanism with multiple levels (by cargo/type/discount size), a configurable sales cycle from lead to delivery for sellers and sales management, richer CRM reporting and automated reminders to enforce SLAs. Data migration risk, integration stability with OEM interfaces, and efficient reconciliation with SAP accounting were immediate triggers for the project.

Why Dynamics 365 was selected

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was selected because it provides a direct upgrade path from Dynamics NAV/Incadea, native integration with Microsoft 365 (enabling Word templates for printed forms), and an extensible platform for OEM connectors. Business Central also supports modular deployment across finance, supply chain and sales while delivering the security and vendor support required to maintain manufacturer-certified integrations.

The Microsoft stack enabled pragmatic reuse of existing investments (NAV/Incadea data and SAP accounting), access to Power Platform for automated reminders and reporting, and reliable Azure-hosted integration patterns. Awara IT was engaged for proven Dynamics 365 implementation experience, domain knowledge in automotive dealer processes and to coordinate complex interface and data-migration activities.

Modules implemented

  • Finance (General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Bank Reconciliation)
  • Sales & CRM (Lead-to-Cash configuration, multi-level discounts, sales cycle workflows)
  • Supply Chain Management (Purchasing, Vendor Management)
  • Warehouse Management (Inventory control, picking and delivery processes)
  • Reporting & BI (Power BI dashboards and operational reports)
  • Power Platform automations (Power Automate workflows for reminders)
  • Document Management (Word template-based printed forms and templates)

Integrations

  • Porsche OEM interfaces (all active manufacturer APIs at launch)
  • SAP accounting (general ledger and posting reconciliation)
  • Incadea / Dynamics NAV 2009 data migration exports
  • Microsoft 365 (Word templates for printed forms)
  • Azure Logic Apps / API gateway for middleware routing
  • LDAP/AD integration for single sign-on and user synchronization

Localization & compliance

The implementation included localization work to support Kazakhstan requirements: KZT currency handling, local tax codes and VAT reporting formats, and Russian/Kazakh language considerations for forms and user interfaces where required by local dealer staff. Awara IT ensured that financial postings and reports aligned with local statutory formats and that integrations preserved audit trails for tax compliance.

Data residency and security controls were addressed through Azure-hosted Business Central tenancy with role-based access and logging to satisfy internal audit and Porsche OEM requirements in the region.

Business value

The project delivered a supported, upgradeable Dynamics 365 Business Central platform that connects Porsche Kazakhstan to required OEM interfaces while preserving integration with SAP accounting. Standardized sales processes and a configurable lead-to-delivery workflow improved operational control and visibility across dealerships. Moving printed forms to Word templates reduced external dependency and cut change costs substantially.

Automation through Power Platform and scheduled reminders reduced missed deadlines and manual follow-ups, while consolidated reporting and Power BI dashboards gave sales leadership timely KPIs. The combined effect is lower operational risk, faster order processing, and a maintainable platform for future Porsche OEM changes or regional expansions.

Awara IT delivered a practical, low-disruption migration and integration plan. We now have a single, maintainable Business Central platform that integrates OEM interfaces and SAP while giving sales teams the configurable tools they need. — Aidar Zhandosov, Head of Sales, Porsche Kazakhstan
