Power Apps (Benefitis) for Employee Motivation — Dynamics 365 partner Awara IT

Bank Center Credit (BCC) engaged Awara IT to build Benefitis: a Power Apps-based employee motivation and corporate store solution delivered inside Microsoft Teams. The goal was to standardize recognition, make rewards immediate and transparent, and reduce HR administration while preserving bank-grade security and auditability.

Awara IT implemented a Teams-hosted Power Apps canvas application backed by Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate flows and Power BI reporting. The result: peer-to-peer "Coins" transfers, purchases from a corporate store, automated accounting entries, and operational dashboards — all integrated with BCC’s existing Microsoft estate and internal HR/finance systems.

Client / Industry / Country

Bank Center Credit (BCC) is a Kazakhstani commercial bank operating a nationwide branch network in Kazakhstan, focused on retail and corporate finance services. The project targeted the bank’s internal HR function and employee population across multiple offices.

Business challenge

BCC faced a fragmented, manual employee recognition process. Managers and HR used email, spreadsheets and paper vouchers to record rewards, which caused delays, inconsistent recognition, limited visibility into reward spend, and manual reconciliation with payroll and accounting.

HR manually validated and posted reward-related transactions to the ledger, creating high operational overhead and limited auditability — a material concern for a regulated bank. Leadership also wanted a lightweight, social way to increase peer recognition, reduce voluntary attrition among high performers, and make rewards accessible inside the collaboration tools employees already use.

Why Dynamics 365 was selected

BCC’s IT landscape was Microsoft-centric (Microsoft Teams and Azure Active Directory), and the bank required a secure, auditable solution that could be deployed quickly and extended in the future. Awara IT recommended Microsoft Power Platform because Power Apps and Dataverse integrate natively with Teams, Azure AD and Dynamics 365 components, enabling rapid low-code delivery while meeting enterprise security requirements.

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner, Awara IT designed the solution so Benefitis could integrate with Dynamics 365 Finance or HR modules later if BCC chose to centralize benefit accounting or HR master data there. This approach preserved future interoperability while delivering a focused Power Platform solution now.

Modules implemented

  • Power Apps — Teams-hosted canvas app (Benefitis)
  • Dataverse — secure transaction and master-data store
  • Power Automate — workflows for approvals, notifications, and accounting entries
  • Power BI — dashboards for HR and finance reporting
  • Role-based security and auditing (Dataverse + Teams)
  • Custom Teams app package and app policy deployment

Integrations

  • Azure AD — SSO and role assignment
  • Bank HRIS — employee master data sync via secure API
  • Finance/ledger system — posting reward liabilities and purchases via API
  • Microsoft Teams — primary UI and notifications
  • Email and internal notification service
  • On-premises gateway for secure access to legacy systems

Localization & compliance

The solution was localized for Kazakhstan: user interfaces support Russian and Kazakh, and all monetary values display in KZT. Awara IT implemented data residency and protection controls consistent with Kazakh personal data legislation and the bank’s internal security policies. Sensitive employee data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-based, and audit logs track every reward transaction to satisfy internal audit and regulatory reviews.

Business value

Benefitis delivered a measurable reduction in HR operational effort and created a visible, auditable recognition program that lives inside the bank’s collaboration platform. Immediate peer-to-peer transfers increased the frequency of recognition and gave HR and finance accurate, timely data for budgeting and liability management. The automated posting of reward transactions to the finance ledger reduced reconciliation time and error rates.

Strategically, the platform strengthened the bank’s ability to retain and motivate employees through social recognition, while the Microsoft-based architecture preserved future integration options with Dynamics 365 Finance or HR modules for centralized processing and reporting.

"Benefitis brought recognition into the daily workflow. Employees are using it, HR spends less time reconciling rewards, and we have a clear audit trail for every transaction." — Aigul Zhaksylykova, Head of HR, Bank Center Credit (BCC)
