BYD — Azerbaijan

BYD entered the Azerbaijani market with a requirement to run car sales, spare parts distribution and after-sales service on a single, auditable platform. Awara IT implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to replace fragmented processes, automate order exchange with the manufacturer and provide the dealer network a single source of operational truth.
The project delivered a unified system across Sales/CRM, Warehouse, Field Service and Procurement, with a tailored integration to the manufacturer's global systems and the dealer management platform. The outcome was faster order processing, improved parts availability, reduced manual work and compliant local reporting — enabling BYD to scale operations in Azerbaijan with consistent manufacturer connectivity.
BYD is a car dealer operating in the automotive sector, launching operations in Azerbaijan (Eastern Europe region). The scope covered vehicle sales, spare parts retail and workshop service operations for a single-market dealer organization.
At project start BYD's Azerbaijani operations used a mix of the existing dealer management system (Incadea), spreadsheets and disconnected service systems for parts, sales and workshop jobs. Key pain points included duplicated data entry between systems, slow parts order processing with the manufacturer, and limited visibility into parts availability across warehouses.
Regulatory and market pressures added complexity: local VAT and fiscal reporting requirements had to be met, while the manufacturer required electronic order exchange and consistent catalogue mapping. The client needed an implementation partner to deliver a compact Business Central solution, integrate with Incadea and the manufacturer's systems, and provide local-language and tax compliance.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was selected because it provides a modular, cloud-ready ERP core suitable for mid-market automotive dealers: finance, inventory, procurement and service management in a single product. Business Central offered the flexibility to configure dealer-specific processes without replacing the dealer management system, reducing disruption during market launch.
The decision was also driven by Microsoft ecosystem advantages: native connectivity to Microsoft 365 for collaboration, Power Platform for light automation and Power BI for operational reporting. Awara IT was retained as implementation partner for its proven experience with Dynamics NAV/BC integrations and localized deployments in the region.
The implementation included localization for Azerbaijan: VAT rate configuration, electronic invoice templates aligned to local requirements, and reporting formats required by the tax authority. Language considerations were addressed through Azerbaijani and Russian UI labels where required and documentation translated for operations and accounting teams.
Awara IT implemented fiscal controls within Business Central to ensure compliance with local audit trails, posting groups and reporting periods. The solution also preserved manufacturer-required data formats for order exchange while ensuring local legal requirements were met for customer invoices and accounting.
BYD gained operational consistency across sales, parts and workshop functions, enabling faster order fulfilment and reliable parts availability — critical in a market launch scenario. The manufacturer integration reduced manual reconciliation and the risk of order errors, improving supplier relationships and lead times.
From a financial and operational standpoint, the deployment lowered manual workload for administrative staff, increased inventory efficiency and shortened service cycles, creating capacity to add additional dealers or scale service operations in Azerbaijan without proportional increases in headcount.
Awara IT delivered a practical Business Central implementation that connected our sales, parts and service workflows to the manufacturer. The project reduced manual reconciliations and let our teams focus on customers. — Elchin Huseynov, IT Director, BYD Azerbaijan
